Historic San Jose: A Fallon House Tour on the City’s 240th Birthday

The City of San Jose’s historic Fallon House was open for a tour on the celebration of San Jose’s 240th birthday.  Observed last Saturday, 19th November, the official date is technically on November 29, 1777.

San Jose Google Project Community Town Hall Meeting in Gardner raises serious questions about living wages, affordable housing, and community displacement

Neighborhood activists and residents met together at the Gardner Community center on Monday, 20th November to talk about Google’s proposed mega-campus in San Jose.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in downtown San Jose

San Jose residents joined the social movement when a group of organized citizens marched from downtown’s St. James Park to Theater Plaza in front of the Hammer Theatre and the Paseo de San Antonio on Second Street.  On behalf of World Day of Remembrance, a memorial walk and demonstration occurred this past Sunday, 19th November.  California State Assemblymember Ash Kalra spoke to the families participating in the event organized by The San Francisco Bay Area Families for Safe Streets and California Walks.

The Founding of the City of San Jose, Celebrating 240 Years at the Peralta Adobe & Fallon House

At the Peralta Adobe on Saturday, 19th November, the city of San Jose celebrated 240 years since the founding of El Pueblo de San José de Guadalupe.  Considered the city’s birthday, the official date is technically on November 29, 1777.
