INFORMATION FOR THE MAYORAL ELECTION DEBATE:
The moderator for the upcoming debate, The League of Women Voters (LWV), is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy, but never supports or opposes any political party or candidate. LWV is often known for their “Smart Voter” website at http://www.smartvoter.org.
This forum is sponsored by District 6 Neighborhood Leaders (D6NL) and UNSCC-United Neighborhoods of Santa Clara County.
SJ-D6NL is a self directed group of independent neighborhood, neighborhood business, school and community leaders organized to improve communication.
UNSCC-United Neighborhoods of Santa Clara County is a coalition of neighborhood associations and homeowner’s associations in Santa Clara County who have come together for the purposes of education, communication and common action. United Neighborhoods of Santa Clara County is a nonprofit (501c3) corporation, and it provides insurance and other benefits to member neighborhoods. UNSCC is made up of member neighborhood associations and homeowner associations and governed by its Board of Directors.
The debate between these runoff candidates will be hosted at the Starlite Banquet Hall at Minnesota/W Alma Avenue in Willow Glen. This is the same location of the primary debates that occurred on 24 April 2014, although with a different set of sponsors and a different moderator.
